know anything about our beloved theme photo?

This magnificent shot was scanned from a postcard with no information about the photographer. A Google image search through thousands of Villa-Lobos photos never turned it up. If you know who took it, please let me know — I want to credit it!

Some further information turned up via the Smithsonian Institution: they list the photo as “by an unknown photographer.” If they don’t know, I doubt anyone does.
